No Caller Id:
Thanks for sticking around.
I’m grateful that you chose to spend time around me so you at least deserve my goodbye.

Receiving End:
Why are you leaving?
That’s a difficult choice no?
I can tell it’s been on your mind for a while.

No Caller Id:
Yeah, not the first time I’ve thought about it.
But this is the first time I’m sure I’ll do it.
You see, I’ve never had anyone but you.
My family is there too but they don’t know me.
They have only seen me.
I hate myself you know?
I’ve seen many people pass me by and excel in their lives while I’m stuck here.
I simply take up space.
I am made up of no value.

Receiving End:
You have no value?
Seems like I’m being shot down as a poor investor then.
But why then did you wait this long to leave?
It’s been on your mind before as you said.

No Caller Id:
Well, I guess it’s because I don’t want them to be sad over me leaving.
It was never their fault to be honest.

Receiving End:
Do you worry how dirt will feel when you dig it up and separate it from the other dirt?

No Caller Id:
Not really no…

Receiving End:
How about the sand?
Do you tell it when you are about to step on it?

No Caller Id:
Well no?

Receiving End:
Because there is no value in them currently right?

No Caller Id:
Well I guess that’s correct but it doesn’t make any point.
Of course you have value to me that’s why I told you I am leaving and why I am waiting to leave because I value my family.

Receiving End:
Right, just humor me for a moment.
If a kid came up to you with a glass of mud water would you pay him for it?

No Caller Id:
Most likely not, why would I need mud water? Kinda gross.

Receiving End:
Right so you wouldn’t give something valuable for something invaluable.
The only time you might do that is if it’s a gift.
When you give without expecting return.
But this isn’t a gift to me or your family it’s a trade.

No Caller Id:
How is this possibly a trade?

Receiving End:
You are giving me valuable information that you are leaving.
You are giving your family valuable time before you leave.
In a trade you give, and you take.

No Caller Id:
I’m not taking anything from you though?

Receiving End:
You are taking you from me, from your family, and from others outside of this equation who truly care for you.
This may come off as harsh but if I saw no value in you, why would I invest my time and care for you as my best friend?
Time is valuable and I’m willing to make that trade for you daily.
Now maybe you aren’t bringing wealth or physical benefit to the table but rather I value you for you, my best friend.
Your parents don’t have high hopes for you because you have no value, your siblings don’t look up to you because you have no value.
No person would ever look at an ordinary rock and say “I can’t wait until you’re a diamond.”
They know it will never be a diamond.
So why would your parents and siblings look at you and long for you to achieve your goal, if you have no value.

No Caller Id:
Ok so they see me as valuable but I don’t.
I still hate myself.

Receiving End:
Nothing of value ever becomes of value because it simply told itself it was valuable.
In every case, something else looked at it and saw that value in it.
Even if people passed by and didn’t see the value it’s not because the person who placed value in it was wrong.
Either they weren’t educated on why it was valuable or it just wasn’t valuable to them.
You don’t have to be valuable to everyone to have value.
You don’t even have to be valuable to yourself.
But one day you will when you see the value and trust others around you put into you whole heartedly.
Get some rest, I’ll be by tomorrow.
