Past Expiration
I’ve lived on the shelf for all my life.
I have been around the store every remodel.
I have been pointed at a few times by customers who seemed interested.
I’ve never understood why I’ve never been bought.
As a product I age with each day.
However I can only age for so long before I reach my expiry date.
Most products similar to I hit that date around a similar time.
Some earlier or later than others but they were produced at a different time than I.
I don’t know my expiry date.
It’s not written where I can see it.
However there are other who can see it.
Does not someone want me before I expire?
I’m only valuable for a time yet I feel as if that window is closing.
How come no one has picked me yet?
How come no one seems to see the worth they can get out of me.
I’ll change my price.
I’ll go as cheap as dirt.
Stop looking at me and pick me up.
It doesn’t make sense.
If you can see I’m reaching expiration don’t you want to get me and use me before I do?
My product works just as good as any other.
I promise it can be used for whatever your needs demand.
I’ll try my best to extend my date and delay my departure if it makes me more enticing.
I just don’t want to expire on the same shelf, in the same store, I’ve stayed with withering worth.
